API
Rate limits
How many requests a key may make, and what to do when you hit the limit.
Each API key may make 120 requests per minute by default, counted separately for reading, writing, media, and short links. You can set a lower limit when you create a key.
When you go over, the API answers 429 Too Many Requests with a Retry-After header (seconds). Wait that long, then retry.
Other limits worth knowing:
| Limit | Value |
|---|---|
| API keys per account | 10 |
| Webhook endpoints per account | 5 |
| Short links per account | 500 active |
| Page size for lists | up to 100 |
| Scheduled posts per month | set by your plan (see GET /usage) |
| Media by URL import | 25 MB (use the upload flow for larger files) |
| Images / videos in the library | 50 MB / 500 MB per file, plus your plan's storage |
Posts also follow each platform's own limits, such as 280 characters on X. See platforms.
